Norwegian Mittens

My favorite mittens. I have made many pairs with lopi light yarn, after a little time and snow they felt wonderfully and are the warmest mittens around. If you are in any cold areas I recommend knitting up a pair for every one in your family. The patterns are in both Knitter's Almanac and Knitting Around.

  • These are really beautiful. I have made some mitts from Folk Mittens and I think these have to be the next pair I knit. Nice colors too.

  • Love 'em! They look so practical and understated in those earthy colors. I like the idea of doing them in Lopi, too.

  • What a gorgeous pair of mittens. Well done you. I've just bought Nancy Bush's "Folk knitting in Estonian" and have seen a few patterns and techniques that I want to try out, so watch this space.

  • Did this pair take just two skeins (one of each color) or more than that?
    Thanks!
