I Need to Find More Babies to Knit For!!

The Baby Surprise Jacket is such a wonder of engineering. I would have loved to watch the process as EZ designed this little charmer. How did she figure it all out? Amazing.

My humble contribution to the masses of BSJ's that have been knit, is made from Zitron Life Style in color #1864. There are many more photos on my blog.

  • Oh my gosh, this is cute. Is that a bass scroll next to it? Are you a musician?

I just discovered this blog after leafing through my old copy of Knitting Without Tears. I haven't knit (except socks) for years, and now I have a 15-month-old that really needs some hand-knit sweaters. Where did this pattern come from?

  • Thanks. Yes, that is a bass scroll. It isn't mine though. The bass belongs to my sixteen year old son. It is such a gorgeous instrument that I love to pose my finished projects with it.

The BSJ is in at least two of EZ's books, Knitting Workshop and The Opinionated Knitter.

  • So, does this happen to anyone else or am I just wierd. I have been knitting only a short time and since I stumbled on to this blog I have been having regular dreams about this sweater. I really need to knit this sweater.

  • That's beautiful. I love the yarn choice.

  • Concerned, that is definitely crazy! I think you need to get going on this sweater. My baby is 25 pounds and 32" tall, usually 18 or 24 months size. :)

So Kirsten, is this a difficult sweater? I used to knit, and then since I staryted again, I have knit socks and hats---that's it. Should I go for it? I also love the tomten.

    It's BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations.

  • Very pretty BSJ! I chose this yarn from the Skacel Rep precisely with the idea of knitting another BSJ from it. (you beat me to it!) Now I know that it will look as good as I thought that it would...

To the knitters that haven't knit this pattern yet, it is definitely worth kntting - and - if you have any problems, you can always post them to this group to get help.

    Go for it!

  • Tamara,
If you have knit socks you should be able to manage this jacket. Just read and follow EZ's directions carefully. As Stashmaster said, you can always come to the Zimmermania site for help.
